Boards - Slight shelf rubbing on bottom edge; corners are slightly bumped and have minimal wear, minimal rubbing on the boards, some spotted dirt stains on the front board

Spine - Sun fading, the head and heel have some wear.

Binding - Tight backstrip, pages, paste downs are all very secure.  Hinges are tight.

Pages - Very clean, no writing, no names, no inscriptions.  Consistent tanning on all pages of the book (seems very consistent with war-time paper)

Physical and Other Attributes:    The book measures 5 1/2” x 5 1/8” and has 338 pages.  The boards are covered with red/orange cloth and have black printing on the front board and spine.  The for, top, and bottom edge of the pages are stained red to match the boards.  The front board has an illustration of the desert highway.

About the Author:  Born 2-28-09 in Columbus, Ohio and died 2-11-81 in Los Angeles.  Married Kurt Frings 3-18-09, had two children, and later divorced in 1963. She was twice nominated for Broadway's Tony Award: in 1958 as author of Best Play nominee "Look Homeward, Angel," and in 1967 as co-author of book with Roger O. Hirson of Best Musical nominee "Walking Happy."
